Spirit AeroSystems: Everyone back to work by Monday
Community Content
Spirit AeroSystems President & CEO Jeff Turner said Friday, Apr. 20, 2012, that the company is already back online in many departments following the tornado that hit the facility in south Wichia, Kan., last Saturday night and he expects the comppany to be ramping up to full production Monday when all employees will return to work. A lot of effort this week has gone into Spirit AeroSystems facilities to get them ready for employees to return on Monday, he said. About 1,000 people have been cleaning up debris, working on roofs, testing equipment and putting some temporary fixes in place so Spirit's 10,800 people can come back to work. Some production returned Friday. (Mike Hutmacher, The Wichita Eagle.)
